Our story
A ritual worth remembering
“I grew up watching people take fragrance seriously. Not as an afterthought, but as a ritual and a gift worth remembering.”
Where it started
Bakhoor in the arrivals hall
Bakhoor drifting through airport arrivals. The tradition of gifting perfume to someone you love. These are the things our founder couldn't shake after every trip home.
America doesn't have that culture yet: the idea that how you and your home smell is something to take pride in. Nukia exists to bring it here, the way sushi, açaí and Korean skincare arrived. Not as a novelty import, but as something that simply becomes how people live.
The switch
From designer bottles to the real thing
The founder's own path ran through the same shift. From stacking designer bottles for the look of an expensive collection, to discovering the niche Arabian houses most of the West has never heard of, and the compliments that came with the switch.
Oud, musk and amber were never gendered in the cultures Nukia draws from. They were worn by everyone. So Nukia is unisex by default: no his-and-hers lines, no gendered copy. One identity, worn by whoever it fits.
What we stand for
The credible middle
The category forces a false choice: pay niche-house prices for synthetic minimalism, or gamble on a cheap import with inconsistent batches and support that disappears after you buy. Nukia refuses both.
Real oud, saffron and amber, proven with every batch. Consistent fills. A full refund if it isn't right for you. And real people, based in the US, when you need us.
